The Music City Grand Prix, renamed the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix due to sponsorship considerations, is an IndyCar Series race hosted at Nashville’s Street Circuit. In 2021, Marcus Ericsson won the inaugural event.
On September 16, 2020, the IndyCar Series announced the addition of the Music City Grand Prix as a street circuit race in downtown Nashville to its 2021 schedule.
It was also Nashville’s first IndyCar race (see details about the series) since 2001 when the Indy 200 was staged at Superspeedway Nashville.

The race will retain its present date on the calendar, and the temporary 2.17-mile course will stage high-speed action on August 7 and 8.
In keeping with the image of the dynamic city, numerous music stages will be erected up on-site each night following the racing.
Nashville Grand Prix race is the latest addition to a growing list of venues that have confirmed their 2019 dates, including the 106th Indianapolis 500 on May 29 and the Iowa Speedway doubleheader on July 23 and 24.
